Production, Strategy & Talent Management
Launched in 2017 by Baque Creative, Shaniqwa Jarvis and Something Special Studios, Social Studies is an inclusive, multi-day experiential event that empowers and educates youth through creative, community-driven programming supported by brand and artist engagement. Social Studies NY brought a bold, counter-cultural roster of brands and artists to Milk Studios in NYC. The activation combined retail, curatorial workshops, educational panels, one-on-one mentor sessions, exclusive drops, a book launch and more into a singular, robust activation. In addition to retail activations from brands such as Awake, Online Ceramics, Union, and Procell, Social Studies featured a book launch by Rafael Rios, a series of talks and mentor sessions led by names such as Heron Preston, Sonya Sombreuil of Come Tees, Brendan Fowler, Jon Gray of Ghetto Gastro, Tremaine Emory of No Vacancy Inn, and hands-on workshops led by Angelo Baque, Cian Moore, Melody Eshani, Shaniqwa Jarvis, Brian Procell, Jessica Gonsalves, and more.
