An interactive digital experience with Serena Williams, created to inspire the next generation of female athletes both on and off the court.

Coinciding with the US Open, Nike partnered with Serena Williams to create a dialogue around women in sport, capturing a conversation between the renowned athlete and the actress, Storm Reid. Nike tasked us with building a digital experience around this conversation. The result was Open Court with Serena Williams, a member-gated microsite featuring the conversation content alongside a collection of additional athlete* inspiration and engagement tools.

First, a custom asset generator allowed visitors to create custom imagery to share on social in promotion of Nike’s “You Can’t Stop Sisters” campaign. Then, a virtual tennis game awarded winners a campaign tee. Digital stickers were also made to be shared on Instagram.

Finally, community resources, such as a map of NYC courts, were shared to encourage athletes* to get out and play.
