Summer of Something Special (SoSS) is an annual photo book by Something Special Studios. This marks the publications fourth edition.

Every volume features a new selection of photographers from around the world, each capturing summer as they see it, each encompassing a distinct visual style and narrative. The publication can be seen as a group diary - an ode to summer - each photographer communicating that particular summer energy in a way that only they can. The publication is composed of a mix of established and emerging photographers, and each year, a handful of photographers in SoSS are chosen from public photo submissions. For Volume IV, those photographers were Meiting Song, Danaya Wattanapan and Yasmin Yassin. All proceeds from the fourth volume of SoSS went to Ghetto Film School. Ghetto Film School (GFS) is an award-winning nonprofit founded in 2000 to educate, develop, and celebrate the next generation of great storytellers.

The launch of the 4th edition celebrated events in Miami, Los Angeles, and New York City, including a takeover of Iconic Magazine's storefront.

In addition to the book, SSS created postcards (one for each photographer), a celebratory tee and a tote. Photographers featured include Annie Powers, Cameron Reed, Thalía Gochez, Mark Custer, Meiting Song, Jheyda McGarrell, Frankie Carino, Sirui Ma, Yashaddai Owens, Danaya Wattanapan, Clara Balzary and Yasmin Yassin.

SOSS Vol. IV is available for purchase via our web store and will be available in select stores internationally including Printed Matter (NY), Iconic Magazines (NY), Lichen (Brooklyn), Arcana (LA), Dale Zine (Miami), Skylight Books (LA) and Better Gift Shop (Toronto) to name a few.
