Art Director

The Art Director will lead art direction and visual storytelling for agency and client-integrated productions. Responsibilities:

Associate Strategy Director

Community Engagement Lead

The Community Engagement Lead manages talent curation and supports experiential programming and community strategy development for client work and Something Special Studios’ special projects. As part of the Creative Strategy department, the Lead develops and maintains a roster of global talent, while cultivating relationships with community members, influencers, and consumer-facing creative partners for respective briefs and projects. They are also responsible for managing SSS’ Instagram account and overseeing SSS’ special projects pipeline. The ideal candidate has a very close pulse on cultural events and trends across a spectrum of creative industries and subcultures, especially in New York City and Los Angeles. The Lead will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive expertise in talent, cultural trends, and community dynamics across all initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Talent Curation:
    • Lead consumer-facing talent curation for all projects, identifying individuals and collectives who align with the brand and brief.

    • Build and maintain a talent database, continuously sourcing and refreshing talent within art, culture, music, food, and other relevant industries per brief and project specifications.

Production/Motion Designer

The PD must be technically skilled and comfortable working in close collaboration with a team of producers to manage and execute motion graphics on production streams. This person can rapidly deliver motion graphic assets for live stream productions and can confidently and comfortably meet production deadlines. They will also collaborate with other designers to work on internal and ssspecial projects.

Responsibilities:

  • 3+ years of strong motion graphic design visual and interactive design, at a digital or creative studio/agency

  • Ability to maintain and update assets on production streams

  • Maintain and manage all live stream After Effects files, Figma templates, and guidelines

  • On-demand motion graphics designer who can upkeep live assets and collaborate with the production team

  • Develop creative feedback/direction with internal and external partners across the production processes

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and presentation design skills; must be able to articulate concepts to internal and external stakeholders and live streams

Spatial Designer

Architectural Designer/ Assistant

Interactive art experience is seeking a full-time Architectural/Design Assistant. This candidate is a strong visual creative with experience in ideating and transforming creative concepts into tangible schematics, ideally through construction documentation, and into fabrication.

The candidate will be contributing to conceptual designs through execution and provide assistance on all respective design assets and specifications to fabrication teams and partners. Drafting, communication, organization, CAD and problem-solving are key skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Spatial Design Lead & Experiential Design Lead to achieve the overall design goals and requirements developed with creative and curatorial within agreed timelines

  • Assist design development process through all phases from pre-design research,
    design documentation, and construction, adhering to brand design specifications and guidelines

  • Passionate about visualizing and executing spatial concepts into lived experiences

  • Strong AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe Suite skills

  • Strong Visualization and Rendering skills with experience using VRay, KeyShot, and/or
    Enscape

  • Knowledge of Revit and Blender will be an asset
